oh the places you'll go
good Monday morning.
as i'm trying to get all sorts of work done before leaving early to go to the dentist, i decided to take a short break to share just a couple things...
first, this weekend the man and i went to a small exhibit of Dr. Seuss' works at the Newbury Fine Arts Gallery on Newbury St (in Boston). the gallery is small but had a great collection that followed a time line in accordance with Ted Geisel's life. did you know that when he wasn't creating marvelous stories as Dr. Seuss, Mr. Geisel was painting surrealist pieces? i didn't. this little exhibit sparked my interest to make the trip out to Springfield to go to the "official" Dr. Seuss museum.
second, i am officially going to Simmons College in the fall to pursue an MSW (Master of Social Work). FINALLY i heard back from Smith College this weekend. although they were considering me for longer than anticipated, they had made their decision and sorry... but it's a no go. honestly, i couldn't be more relieved, choosing between Smith and Simmons was a decision i was not looking forward to... in fact i think it's fair to say, i was dreading it. although Smith left me hanging for a while, the wait is over and my exercise in ambiguity has finally ended.
moving on and looking forward...
